9th & 10th Grade Schedule 2025-2026

9th/10th Grade Course Information

 

Course Information: Some classes meet both days per week, and some classes meet only one day per week. Tuition for classes that meet two days per week is $450, and classes that meet one day per week is $225. (Book/supply fee of $100 per class; no other class fees. 10% discount for full-time enrollment.) Most classes will have 20-60 minutes of homework per school day.

 

9th/10th Grade Literature and Composition: This class meets on both Wednesdays and Fridays. Students will continue to improve their writing skills, will learn Greek & Latin roots for vocabulary improvement, and will refine grammar skills. Students will also read and discuss novels, learning literature concepts and terms.

 

9th/10th Grade Theology: This class meets on both Wednesdays and Fridays, and will cover all the topics of classic systematic theology, including the doctrines of God, Man, Sin, Redemption, and Last Things, using Everyone’s a Theologian, by RC Sproul. 

 

Algebra 1: This course meets on both Wednesdays and Fridays, and will use Saxon Algebra 1, which thoroughly teaches Algebra 1 concepts. For any grade student ready for Algebra 1.

 

Algebra 2: This course meets on both Wednesdays and Fridays, and will use Saxon Algebra 2, which thoroughly teaches Algebra 2 concepts. For any grade student ready for Algebra 2.

 

Algebra 2.5: This course meets on both Wednesdays and Fridays, and will use Saxon Algebra 2, which thoroughly teaches Algebra 2 concepts. This course will begin in the middle of the Algebra 2 book, and it is designed for students who have started Algebra 2, but either did not make it all the way through the book, or who did make it through the book, but who struggled and could use another year before moving on to Pre-Calculus. The instructor is an expert at explaining math concepts clearly and patiently.

 

9th/10th Grade History: The Medieval World: This class meets on Fridays only. This class will explore the Medieval world and the events leading up to the Reformation. 

 

Biology: Anatomy: This class meets on Wednesdays only, and is for high schoolers. Students will learn from a Christian science curriculum that explores the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, and nervous systems. This course does not cover the reproductive system.

 

Science Experiments: This class meets on Wednesdays only, and is for 8-12th graders. This class will learn about how to conduct science experiments and present scientific evidence. Students will have a science fair presentation. 

 

Art I: Introduction to Media: This class meets on Wednesdays only, and is for 6-12th graders. This class will cover an introduction to different art media. Students will learn fundamental art concepts.

 

Art: Advanced Drawing: This class meets on Wednesdays only, and is for 6-12th graders. This class will cover drawing and rendering with an emphasis on realism. Students should have taken at least one other art class before taking this class.

 

STEM Activities and Building Projects: This class meets on Fridays only, and is for 8-12th graders. This class will be hands-on building projects, mostly STEM-related.

 

Art: Textiles: This class meets on Fridays only, and is for high schoolers. This class will cover textile art – sewing, weaving, and other textiles will be explored.

 

Latin I: This class meets on Fridays only, and is for high schoolers. Students will learn first year Latin. Students should expect to complete one hour of homework per day.
